Long Independence Day Speech 15 August 2024
Good morning to everyone present here. First of all, I wish you all a very Happy Independence Day. Today we are going to celebrate 78th Independence Day with a free morning and this freedom we got after facing many troubles and making many sacrifices, on this day the British Empire collapsed in our country. And on August 15, 1947, our country became independent forever, August 15, that is, the day of independence, is considered a very proud and fortunate day for India. Because this day instils a new sense of hope, enthusiasm and patriotism in our hearts and reminds us how many troubles we faced for this day. If we had to sacrifice our lives to achieve this freedom and to protect Mother India, we would give it with laughter, that is why we celebrate Independence Day with enthusiasm all over India. Today I am going to put some of my thoughts in front of you on Independence Day. Let’s start with few lines –
When the eyes are opened, the earth belongs to India.
When the eyes are closed, the memories are of India,
Even if we die, there is no sorrow.
At the time of death, the soil must be of Hindustan.
On 15 August 1947, such a revolution was successful, whose echo was heard all over the world and on this day, the first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru celebrated the first Independence Day by hoisting the flag at the Red Fort, and this is one of the reasons why every year the country’s first Independence Day was celebrated. Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji hoists the Indian flag at the Red Fort. And we also celebrate this national festival on Independence Day by hoisting the flag, singing the national anthem and paying tribute to all the freedom fighters.
Today, on the occasion of 78th year of India‘s Independence Day, I am considering myself very lucky to be here amongst all of you and the biggest reason for being lucky is that I have been born in the country of independent India because when India was a slave. It was then that a lot of atrocities were committed on the British and our ancestors. Today is a very distinctive day for all of us. Because on this day our entire country of India got freedom. This is the most important day for every Indian citizen because on this day the freedom fighters of the country had sacrificed their lives and this day reminds us of the sacrifices made by them.
