1) Teaching Department
Department of Panchakarma is one of the most important clinical Departments that teach and train the students of 3rd professional of B.A.M.S. course about the basics of Panchakarma and its application concepts in different diseases. It is also studied at the post graduate and doctorate level. The main focus of study is to make aware the students regarding fundamental of all diseases, applicability of Panchakarma in diseased condition and for Rasayan purpose for well being and long life. The approach of students is also shaped toward various procedures as well as keraliya Panchakarma like shirodhara, patra pinda and shali shashtika pinda swedana etc. It is also imparted to students the strict discipline and hygiene in the management of Panchakarma therapy room and its instruments. The knowledge of ancient principles of longevity of Ayurveda in regard to all diseases, their treatment with different Panchakarma procedures and do’s and don’ts for the patients is also to be taught during their course.
The parallel running hospital along with the Ayurvedic medical college is providing the basic medical and health facility to local villagers as well as other people of Delhi and surrounding states. The Department of Panchakarma should be up to mark to fulfill the teaching and training requirement to student of final year of BAMS course. There must be sufficient resources to complete the knowledge of Panchakarma at their level as given above. The Panchakarma department and Panchakarma procedure’s unit be fully equipped and should be in well running condition. The facility of fully functional and hygienic Panchakarma therapy rooms and ward to manage all type of diseases must be present.
